  • Trump has signed an executive order to create a crypto stockpile.
  • Bettors are bullish that XRP will outperform other cryptocurrencies in 2025.
  • JPMorgan says XRP ETFs can attract $8 billion in inflows.

Bettors like XRP’s odds as the Ripple-linked cryptocurrency inches closer to launching exchange-traded funds.

On Kalshi, the Ripple-linked cryptocurrency has a 43% chance of outperforming other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have 21% and 7% odds on being the best performers in 2025.

The news comes after President Donald Trump indicated that he’d like to include XRP in a digital asset stockpile.

“Including XRP in a strategic reserve strengthens the case for XRP ETF applications,” Jonathan de Wet, the chief investment officer at Zerocap, a crypto trading firm, told DL News earlier this week.

Several XRP exchange-traded fund applications are currently making their way through the Securities and Exchange Commission. Bettors on Polymarket put the odds of an XRP getting approved in 2025 at 76%.

Analysts at JPMorgan predict an XRP ETF could attract $8 billion in investor flows within its first year, mirroring the impact of Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs.

The bullish odds came on the eve of the White House’s first crypto summit, in which Trump will host leading figures in the crypto industry.

Digital asset stockpile

On Thursday, Trump signed an executive order to create a strategic Bitcoin reserve and a digital asset stockpile. The order didn’t name XRP and said it would keep cryptocurrencies already seized by law enforcement.

XRP’s price dropped on the news. It is down 3.3% over the past 24 hours. The total crypto market fell 2.5% in the same period.

The crash in crypto markets coincided with the Nasdaq crashing over 2.6% as Wall Street digested a barrage of tariff-related headlines.

The markets have already reeled from on-and-off tariff threats coming out of the White House, which have prompted Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly to describe US trade policy as a “psychodrama.”

Still, the news saw the chances that the US government will hold XRP reserves in 2025 spike to 30% on Polymarket, up from around 20% before Trump signed the executive order.
