  • Kamala Harris’ chances of winning the White House surged on Polymarket.
  • Her odds improved as crypto heavyweights like Mark Cuban threw their support behind her.

Donald Trump is reportedly complaining to friends and allies that his bid to retake the White House — a prospect that seemed iron-clad just three weeks ago — is floundering.

Vice President Kamala Harris has not just pulled ahead in the polls, but has also grabbed the support of crypto dynamos like billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban.

Now, bettors on Polymarket, a crypto-powered prediction market, put the odds of Harris beating Trump in November at 49.2%.

Trump has a 49% chance of winning the race, with the remaining 0.8% being scattered among Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and others.

Similarly, UK betting-exchange Betfair put the odds of Harris winning at 49.5% against Trump’s 48%.

Three weeks ago, Trump’s candidacy looked destined for victory.

His pledge to back crypto friendly policies had endeared him to industry backers who passionately argued on his behalf.

Harris is also ahead in the polls and has attracted big backers from the crypto community, including SkyBridge founder and former Trump Administration communications director Anthony Scaramucci.

And it says more are coming.

Crypto4Harris, an organisation that describes itself as a grassroots network of crypto advocates, is “organising to back Harris while pushing for a nuanced policy stance that positions America as a leader in digital assets,” it said on X.

The organisation touts 50 members and is organising a digital town hall on August 16 where Cuban is said to be among the speakers, according to Fox Business.

While Biden was seen as a predominantly anti-crypto candidate, Harris has not made her views on the industry clear.
