The present document explains the terms under which The Llama News, a commercial company with registered office is headquartered at Al Maktoum Road, MM Tower, Office 902, Dubai, United Arab Emirates and collects, uses and processes the data and information of its readers via its applications. The rules for the collection, use and processing of data and information are in accordance with the applicable national legislation and the Personal Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016.

The Llama News cares for the privacy of its readers as well as the personal data submitted by them, and is responsible for the website https://dlnews.com (hereinafter, the “Site”).

We ask you to read carefully and attentively the present Privacy Policy in order to clarify to the readers the data collected, the purposes for which they are collected, their treatment and their rights.

This Privacy Policy applies to data collected and processed in the scope of readers’ interaction with the DL News website or platform.

Means by which The Llama News collects data from readers

The Llama News collects its readers’ data through the following platforms:

  • Reader registration on the Site (webpage) and social media platforms;
  • Subscribe to newsletters on the website and social media platforms;

Data that The Llama News collects from its readers

Identification and contact: name and e-mail address, phone number, gender, photo and place (city, state and country). Specifically for groups or organisations: company name, address, e-mail address, phone number, registration number and fiscal identification number. Whenever a reader registers via any social network, he/she authorises the social network to share some of his/her data with The Llama News. Via registration with your email address, we only collect your name and email address. Optionally, he/she can add his/her phone number and social media accounts usernames.

List of saved reading articles: information of the articles that the reader has saved in his/her reserved area.

Technical information about computer devices: operating system, resolution, software, search engine or mobile device used to access the Site.

Anonymous information: log of activity and navigation on the Site.

Data from Minors

The Llama News does not knowingly collect (nor can it distinguish) data from minors under the age of 16. However, if The Llama News is informed that data from minors has been collected, it will immediately proceed to delete the data.

Use of the collected data

The Llama News uses the data collected for the following purposes:

  • Provision of its services to the reader;
  • Provision of support to the reader;
  • Fulfilment of contractual and legal obligations;
  • Supply of information and contents of interest to the reader;
  • Improving the functioning of the Site, including the management and prioritisation of contents.

Transmission of data

The Llama News transmits the data of its readers to its service providers, which are external companies for assistance and support in their business, to the strictest extent possible, and they are obliged to comply with the rules and regulations on the protection of personal data.

Data Violation

The Llama News is not responsible for the content accessed through any hyperlink that leads the reader to navigate outside the domain https://dlnews.com, whenever such hyperlinks are the responsibility of third parties.

All data collected is processed automatically and the information sent by the users is encrypted and managed with advanced security.

The Llama News uses various technical and organisational measures of technological protection against attacks on users’ personal information and only subcontracts service providers that guarantee the same level of protection.

The violation, or attempted violation, of databases obtained through the Site will result in the immediate judicial accountability of the offender(s).

DL News readers hold and can exercise the following rights in relation to their personal data:

Right of Information - at the time of collection or processing the holder of the personal data has the right to be informed as to the purpose of the processing, the data controller, entities to which their data may be communicated, conditions of access and rectification and what mandatory and optional data will be collected.

Right of Access - the holder of the personal data has the right to access them, without restrictions or delay, as well as to know what information is available about the origin of the data, the purposes of the processing and the communication of the data to third parties.

Right of Rectification - the holder has the right to demand that the data concerning him/her be accurate and up-to-date, and may at any time request their rectification to the person responsible for processing the data in DL News.

Right of Erasure - the data subject has the right to have their data no longer processed, erased and deleted, under certain conditions, in the case of:

  • They are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected;
  • The data subjects withdraw their consent or oppose the processing of the data;
  • If the processing of the data does not comply with legal provisions. Deletion can be made by making a request by email, from the email associated with the account, to privacy@dlnews.com.

Right to Limitation of Processing - the personal data subject has the right to have their data limited to only what is essential for the purpose of the processing.

Right to Data Portability (data transfer) - the data subject has the right to receive their data or to request the transmission of their data to another entity that becomes the new controller of their personal data (only if technically possible).

Right of Opposition - the data subject has the right to object, at his or her request and free of charge, to the processing of his or her personal data for the purposes of direct marketing or any other form of prospecting and that his or her personal data be communicated to third parties, unless otherwise provided by law.

Right to Knowledge of the existence of a data breach - the personal data subject has the right to be informed if there is any security breach that compromises their data.

Right to Complain to supervisory authority - the personal data subject has the right to complain not only to the company’s personal data controller, but also to the supervisory authority, the National Commission for Data Protection.

Term of Conservation of Data

The data collected is subject to processing for the period strictly necessary to fulfill the specific purpose of each one.

The identification data of registered readers and the list of saved reading articles are conserved for as long as the relationship with the reader is maintained. Therefore, they will remain until the reader cancels his/her registration with The Llama News or requests the deletion/cancellation of his/her subscription.

For the purposes of commercial transactions and compliance with legal invoicing obligations, the data will be kept for the legally required period for compliance with legal obligations, as well as for contesting legal situations and for as long as these continue.

The online newspaper DL News (hereinafter “DL News”) is owned by The Llama News, a commercial company with registered office is headquartered at Al Maktoum Road, MM Tower, Office 902, Dubai, United Arab Emirates .

These Terms and Conditions have been divided into categories and govern the use of the DL News Internet site (hereinafter the “Site”). The Llama News reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions whenever necessary and for this reason, regular consultation of this document is advised.

1. Contents and Property Protection

The contents of the Site are understood as all the information existing in the same, namely text, images, video, design, software and programming code. All this content is the property of The Llama News, is protected by copyright under United Arab Emirates laws - and therefore cannot be used without the consent, expressly defined as such, of The Llama News, except for the purposes of private use permitted by law.

The intellectual property rights of all contents belong to The Llama News, including, but not limited to, the tools, information, graphics, photographs, advertisements, images and text. These contents are protected by law and The Llama News rejects any type of abuse of them. The improper use of this data will naturally lead to liability, including criminal liability, of the offender.

2. Access procedure

Access to the contents of DL News website is universal and free, with the exception of certain contents that The Llama News considers to be unique and exclusive vis-à-vis other media outlets. These articles are called Pro articles.

Access to the Site is differentiated in three types: users without registration; users with registration; subscriber users. The content available for consultation is differentiated according to the type of access the user has.

Unregistered users Users can access all the articles available on the site, including a certain limit number of Pro articles. DL News reserves the right to change at any time the limit of articles, both Pro articles and the remaining articles freely accessible to unregistered users.

Registered Users Registered users are all those who make a registration on the Site. DL News reserves the right to change, at any time, the functionalities available to registered users, as well as the number of articles, Pro and remaining, that they can access.

Subscriber users Subscriber users are all those who have an active subscription. Subscribing to a subscription on the Site presupposes registration on the Site, followed by the acquisition of a desired access plan. The acquisition of the plan presupposes a commercial transaction between the user and DL News. The access to the contents of the Site depends on the type of plan acquired by the subscriber. DL News reserves the right to change at any time the functionalities available to subscriber users, as well as the number of articles, Pro and otherwise, that they can access.

3. Registration Procedure

The registration is made through the insertion of the user’s personal data, namely email and name. The registration on the Site gives access to exclusive features of the Site, including the possibility to comment, save articles, make comments on articles published on the Site, manage newsletter subscriptions, follow authors, topics and categories.

Registration can be done in one of two ways: by connecting directly through a social network or by filling in the personal data required (name, email and password) directly on the Site.

By registering and logging in, the user agrees to:

  • Accept that this act signifies that he/she has read and understood the content of these Terms and Conditions, as well as the Privacy and Cookie Policy;
  • Declare that you are over 16 years of age;
  • Give access to your essential personal data if you fill in your details directly on the Site, or to your personal profile on one of the social networks mentioned, if you choose to validate your access through,, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Apple or other means of authentication;
  • Accept that the user is responsible for the data he or she enters when registering and for maintaining it;
  • Respect the rules where they are inserted, behaving with the civility and rigour that are recognised to the members of DL News;
  • Keep their registration personal and non-transferable, not giving it to third parties;
  • Not to harm the company DL NEWS, UNIPESSOAL, LDA. or any of its users, namely through the attempt of breaking the system security and/or the undue use of commercial or advertising messages;
  • Report to DL News any improper use of the personal account by sending a communication to the contacts indicated in point 10 of these Terms and Conditions.

4. Subscription acquisition procedure

By acquiring a DL News Premium Subscription, the user agrees to the following terms:

  • Payment data is stored and managed solely by the platforms that manage the processing of this information on the different means of payment, with which DL News has a service provision agreement. DL News does not store this data.
  • By purchasing a subscription, the user agrees that the value of the subscription is not subject to refund or compensation under any circumstances. By purchasing a subscription, the user agrees and acknowledges that DL News may change the conditions of the subscribed plan at any time.
  • DL News subscribers also agree that they acknowledge that the Site is subject to the inherent characteristics of any online site and acknowledge that constraints, technical vicissitudes and eventual network communication anomalies, traffic and even third party interference may occur, which may cause constraints and hindrance of services and access to content or intrinsic features of the Site. Users acknowledge that under no circumstances can DL News be held liable for damages caused by impediments or vulnerabilities caused by third parties on the Site.

5. Suspension of Access

The Llama News reserves the right to interrupt access to its website whenever it is necessary and for as long as it deems necessary.

6. Suspension of Comment Boxes

The Llama News reserves the right to remove comment boxes from its web site whenever it deems necessary and during the time it deems necessary.

7. Advertising/Sponsorship

The Llama News platforms do not contain advertising or other references to brands, products and/or services of a commercial nature.

IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE SERVICE. IF THESE TERMS ARE CONSIDERED AN OFFER, ACCEPTANCE IS EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THESE TERMS.

The Llama News(“DL News”, “Llama”, “we” or “our”) may modify any of the terms and conditions contained in this agreement, at any time and in our sole discretion, by posting a change notice or a new agreement on our site. Your continued use of the service following our posting of a change notice or new agreement on our site will constitute binding acceptance of the change.

1. GRANT. The contents of the Service are intended for your personal, noncommercial use only. 2. RESERVATION OF RIGHTS. The Service is protected by the copyright laws of the United Arab Emirates and international copyright treaties. As between the parties, title, ownership rights, and intellectual property rights in and to the Service, and any copies or portions thereof, shall remain in The Llama News. In addition, any additional programming or technology provided by The Llama News in connection with the delivery of the Service or otherwise shall remain the sole property of The Llama News and no part thereof shall be deemed assigned or licensed to you. 3. RESTRICTIONS. Except as expressly set forth in Section 1 and/or unless otherwise consented to by The Llama News, you may not, directly or indirectly: (a) sell, modify, translate, copy, publish, transmit, distribute or otherwise disseminate the Service or any portion thereof; or delete or fail to display any promotional taglines included in the Service; (b) rent, lease, or otherwise transfer rights to the Service; (c) display the name, logo, trademark or other identifier of another person (except for The Llama News or you) on your Site in such a manner as to give the viewer the impression that such other person is a publisher or distributor of the Service on the Site; (d) remove, conceal or obliterate any copyright or other proprietary notice or any credit-line or date-line on other mark or source identifier included on the Service, including without limitation, the size, color, location or style of DL News’ marks; (e) encumber or suffer to exist any lien or security interest on the subject matter of this Agreement; (f) make any representation or warranty on behalf of DL News; (g) use the Service for commercial purposes without prior written permission from DL News as provided above; or (h) use the Service on any Site that contains nudity or pornographic material of any kind, displays material that exploits children under the age of 18 promotes or provides instructional information about illegal activities or physical harm or injury against any group or individual, or use the Service in any manner that is obscene, defamatory, libelous, invasive of personal privacy or misleading.

Unless otherwise permitted by The Llama News, you will: (i) display the Service on your Site in the exact form received by you, and not modify or edit any of the foregoing without The Llama News’s prior written consent; (ii) ensure that the fundamental meaning of the Service is not changed or distorted; (iii) comply with all applicable laws and all limitations and restrictions (if any) placed by DL News on the use, display or distribution of any Service (“Usage Restrictions”); (iv) give The Llama News complete and accurate registration information when requested to do so; and (v) not archive any of the Service for access by users at any future date after the Service has been removed from your Web site. You acknowledge that the service must link and redirect to the appropriate DL News Web page when a user clicks on the Service (e.g. a headline). You shall not display the Service in such a manner that does not allow for successful linking and redirection to, and delivery of, DL News’s Web page, nor may you frame any DL News Web page. 4. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER. You represent and warrant to The Llama News that your Mark(s) and/or content on your Web site, other than the Service, do not and will not infringe any trademark, service mark, copyright, right to publicity, right of privacy or other intellectual property right of a third party, constitute false, deceptive or unfair advertising or disparagement under applicable law, or fail to comply with applicable laws and regulations (including, for example, licensing requirements and administrative or professional rules). The Llama News is the sole owner of all the UAE trademark, copyright, patent rights and service marks in and to the DL News Service provided to you for display within your Web site or that DL News has sufficient license rights to distribute said The Llama News Service in the manner contemplated by this Agreement. The Llama News shall not be liable for any claims or actions arising from any Content included in the Service that has been edited by you in any way. In addition, The Llama News makes no representations concerning any interruption in Service. The Llama News PROVIDES THE SERVICE AND CONTENT ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, AND DL News HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, PERFORMANCE, COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE, ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY. 5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES AND UNDER NO LEGAL THEORY, TORT, CONTRACT, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE, SHALL DL News BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY CHARACTER INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOST PROFITS, LOSS OF GOODWILL, WORK STOPPAGE, ACCURACY OF SERVICES, CONTENT OR RESULTS, COMPUTER FAILURE OR MALFUNCTION, DAMAGES RESULTING FROM DISABLING OF THE SERVICE RELATED TO NON-PAYMENT OF LICENSE FEES, COST OF PROCUREMENT OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS, OR ANY AND ALL OTHER COMMERCIAL DAMAGES OR LOSSES. IN NO EVENT WILL DL News BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES IN EXCESS OF THE FEES PAID BY YOU (IF ANY) IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE, EVEN IF DL News SHALL HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY CLAIM BY ANY OTHER PARTY. TO THE EXTENT THAT THE FOREGOING LIMITATION IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR ANY REASON, THE LIABILITY OF THE PROVIDERS, THIRD PARTY CONTENT PROVIDERS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE AGENTS SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

6. INDEMNITY. You hereby agree to fully indemnify, defend and hold The Llama News and its parent and affiliates and their respective officers, directors, employees and licensors (collectively, the “Provider Parties”) harmless from and against any and all claims, liability, losses, costs and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) incurred by you in connection with: (i) any use or alleged use of the Service through your account by any person, whether or not authorized by you; or (ii) the operation and content on your Site or (iii) any breach of your representations and warranties and other covenants under this Agreement. The Llama News reserves the right, at its own expense, to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter otherwise subject to indemnification by you, and in such case, you agree to cooperate with DL News’s defense of such claim.

7. TERMINATION. Unless otherwise agreed to by The Llama News, you may terminate this Agreement and the license granted herein at any time by destroying or removing all copies of the Service from your Site, all hard drives, networks, and other storage media. Unless otherwise agreed to by The Llama News, The Llama News may restrict, suspend or terminate the Service, this Agreement, the license granted herein, or your access to any aspect or all of the Service at any time without liability. You agree to destroy or return to The Llama News all copies of the Service and all Proprietary Information promptly upon learning of such Termination. Sections 2 through 8 shall survive termination of this Agreement.

8. MISCELLANEOUS. This Agreement represents the complete agreement concerning this license between the parties and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous agreements and understandings between them, whether written or oral. If any provision of this Agreement is held to be unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable. This Agreement shall be governed by and construed under the internal laws and jurisdiction of Dubai, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any action to enforce this agreement shall be brought in the courts in Dubai, UAE. You may not assign this Agreement without The Llama News’s prior written consent; any assignment by you without such consent shall be null and void. You shall be responsible for compliance with all applicable laws, rules and regulations, if any, related to the performance of its obligations under this Agreement. Neither party will be liable for any failure to perform any obligation (other than payment obligations) hereunder, or from any delay in the performance thereof, due to causes beyond its control, including industrial disputes of whatever nature, acts of God, public enemy, acts of government, failure of telecommunications, fire or other casualty.

The Llama News is not responsible for any costs or liability associated with making a connection (by any means) to the Internet, the Service or other online service, or network. You certify you are legally permitted to use the Services and access the Service, and if you are an individual, you are over 18 years of age. You take full responsibility for the selection and use of the Services and access of the content. This Agreement is void where prohibited by law, and the right to access the Service is revoked in such jurisdictions. Nothing in this Agreement will be deemed to limit or restrict The Llama News from entering into agreements with any other person covering services similar to your Site or from offering such similar services itself. The parties hereto are independent contractors, and nothing in this Agreement creates any partnership, joint venture, agency, franchise, sales representative or employment relationship between the parties. You have no authority to make or accept any offers or representations on our behalf and you shall not make any statement, on your site or otherwise, that conflicts with this Agreement.
