Stables, a Web3 fantasy horse racing game built on the Tezos blockchain, is making its first leap into the North American market through a partnership with Equibase, the official supplier of racing information and statistics for horse racing in North America. This expansion marks a major milestone for the French startup as it continues to bring the ownership experience of horse racing into the digital world, allowing more players to engage with real-life racehorses through blockchain technology.
Through its partnership with Equibase, Stables will gain the rights to feature thousands of real racehorses from the U.S., allowing players to build their stables and participate in virtual races. This move strengthens Stables' position as a leader in digital horse ownership, offering a new way for fans to experience the sport.
"By bringing our extensive database into Stables' digital world, we're giving racing fans something they've always dreamed of—a chance to strategize, compete, and experience horseracing in ways that weren't possible before. This partnership represents Equibase's commitment to innovation while honoring the traditions that make horse racing North America's oldest sport," said Equibase President and COO Kyle McDoniel.
Launched in January 2023, Stables was originally part of France’s leading horse racing betting organization Pari Mutuel Urbain’s (PMU) diversification initiatives before spinning off as an independent platform. It has since evolved into a leading Web3-based horse ownership simulator, powered by real-world racehorses that have been transformed into digital assets.
“Expanding Stables into North America is a major step for us,” said Lebnan Nader, CEO of Stables, and with this move, we’re thrilled to introduce our unique gaming experience to a whole new audience. This partnership allows us to bring real North American-based racehorses into our digital ecosystem, further enhancing the authenticity of the game and giving horse racing fans a new interactive way to experience their favorite sport.”
After its launch in 2023, Stables sold out its first French digital horse collection of 6,666 NFTs in two days and focused on enhancing the user experience and game design. It grew in France and Europe to host thousands of races per week, both platform and user-generated. Alongside this major milestone, Stables is rolling out its most significant platform upgrade yet, introducing full Web3 integration and new gameplay mechanics to deepen player engagement. $SPT, the game’s new Tezos-based token, will power race entries, competitions, and in-game transactions, reinforcing Stables' shift to a fully decentralized ecosystem. A revamped league system will now group horses by experience levels, making races more competitive, while nine new power-ups will introduce strategic depth to the gameplay. Additionally, North American race tracks featuring unique terrains, distances, and weather conditions will bring a fresh challenge to the racing experience. Further enhancing the player economy, Stables is launching a marketplace where $SPT can be used to purchase in-game assets, power-ups, and exclusive real-world items such as merchandise or VIP access to live horse races. A new achievement system will also introduce daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, rewarding players with $SPT for their in-game performance.
“Stables is a great example of how blockchain enhances the sports industry, not just by adding digital ownership but by creating entirely new ways for fans to live their passion for horse racing,” said Jean-Frédéric Mognetti, Executive Director of the Tezos Foundation. “Their move into North America is a critical milestone in their global development, and we’re excited to see them bring their vision to a whole new audience.”
